If you would like to be part of scouting you can join the 29th as a Beaver if you are between 6 and 8, as a Cub if you are between 8 and 10½ or as a Scout if you are still under fourteen.

Young people of 14 and over join the Explorer Scouts - although Explorers are District based there is an Explorer Scouts section that uses the 29th's headquarter building.

Information leaflet

The Group is very popular and all the sections have waiting lists. To enquire about membership click on this link - remember to state the age of the young person.

Leaders

Without adult leaders the Group would be unable to function. If you are able to offer your help, it could be as a leader, a helper, a member of the Group Exec Committee, fund raiser, general handyman etc., in the first instance please contact the Group Scout Leader Terry Rich, on 01706 375403 or by email at terry@frieel.com. Scout leadership is a rewarding experience and provides the satisfaction of making a major contribution to the development of local young people. Leaders have to undergo an NVQ style training course and, as they are involved with young people, must be cleared through a Criminal Records Bureau check.
