What Beavers do

  Meetings
  In our meetings we -
  • Play games
  • Do creative activities - making models, masks and toys
  • Carry out experiments
  • Start to try the things that will be used in the Scout older sections like simple knot tying, basic map and compass work
  • Work for badges

In the summer we go out on the fields behind the scout headquarters to play outdoor games, explore the countryside and do quizzes

Events
We take part in events organised for the Rochdale District such as the fun swim, sports day and 5-a-side football competition.

Visit to Cub Camp
Once a year we join the Cubs for a day on their annual camp and learn tracking and backwoods cooking.

Sleepover
Once a year the older (7 year old) Beavers go away on a 24 hour sleepover. The Beavers are divided up into teams and compete for a prize during an expedition, discovery games and creative activities.

The aim of being in Beavers is to have fun, meet new friends and to get ready for going up into the older sections of Scouts.
